René Twerenbold Big Band, Theater Casino Zug, 1988, double CD
Compressing The Blues, composed and arranged by René Twerenbold (2 MB)
On the 24 March 1988, a collaboration between the Theater- und Musikgesellschaft Zug and the Landis and Gyr foundation produced a concert in two parts at the Theater Casino Zug. The first part, which is recorded on the first CD, contains the repertoire of the René Twerenbold Big Band. Twerenbold is a multitalented musician from Zug. He composes, arranges and scores for a wide range of formations in various musical genres. All his work is recognizable for its unique style. On top of that, he is an outstanding director of orchestras.
The RTBB grew out of an idea of some few musicians from Zug who met weekly to experiment in a so-called rehearsal band. Soon René joined and took over the lead in 1984 which decided the course for the band. The Concert at the Casino Zug was the culmination point of four years of work.
